Had an 08 WR250R never had any probs. Sold it in 2015 then missed it so much I bought a 2019 WR250R! I will not sell this one!!! I just love the thing!!!☺

I think you hit it rite on the head bud except probly a few covid buyers thot oh I'll get this and ride all the time but being new riders they start to realize that it's very physical to take a bike off road and ride and aren't ready for the soreness the body feels after even just a few hours of real off roaring and that it's just not for them bud so I think that's another reason that you didn't hit on

Dude, you're taking this thing through terrain it was never meant to navigate. And I salute your bravery, and the fact that this is one of the toughest off-road showcases of this bike. But this is like an elephant in a fine china shop lol. It's way big and heavy for those super narrow ruts. Great content though. Be safe out there.

I feel like this ( middle weight class of old ) single 400-650s are now moving to twins simply because of power and more of an on motorcycle feel which is what people want. The old single are awesome but have more of a dirtbike feel. Shame I think , and yes I a Suzuki gal and own the vstrom 800 . But like you said Suzuki moves like there’s concrete drying around there feet. Probably never see an improvement on what I call small dual sports from Suzuki.

I love mine, its my picture on here.. i ride it more days a week than i drive my vehicles.. i rip on it all the time.. iv been on many motorcycles and i feel my KLR is all around one of the best mecines iv had.. i wish it had the versys 650 drivetrain in it when they revised it for '22... Good times

I have the Susy 800de and a heavily modified Honda crf 250l. I really think I would sell both for a Suzuki dr700 with all you mentioned. Abs, injection, mono, economic, ez to work on, reliable, BORING Suzuki DR. Just cut some houses, I don't care.

Make sure you rewind the alternator/magneto. Otherwise you’ll struggle to keep the battery charged when riding

My 2005 KLR in the past 5 years has only ever gotten me to work and back a few times a year. But i plan to change that. Spruced it up with a choke eliminator, new LED headlight assembly, and a fresh oil/ air filter change. Excited to let the horse be free again. Its been a long time.

I bought my 2022 klr to be my senior bike. It’s heavy and not much power. It will putt almost anywhere all day long. That’s all I need as I get close to 70. After 50 plus years of riding I no longer need to carve up canyons on a sport bike or take a cruiser anywhere. Hard dirt riding is behind me. So heading out in the mountains on a 300 mile day it works. Still can take dirt and gravel roads. Can hit the interstate if have to do so. It’s easy to work on and maintain. It’s the perfect senior bike to let you explore just about anywhere.

I love my Gen 1 2001 klr650 and will never give my baby up.

More info for you. I spoke to a Honda dealer the other day. As for the XR400R. Australian dealers still wanted it. as it was pretty well the biggest selling road trail bike every year. What happened was Honda put the minimum order number up to 2000 units per year. But over a year Australia was only selling around 1300 bikes yearly, so thats why that ended.

For a start to address other comments. Honda are dead in the water right now. Their road bike are keeping them alive and some bigger adventure bikes. No one wants a CRF anymore. They wont update the XR because it is good how it is and they dont have the money to change it. Suzuki how ever just about closed the doors on the motorcycle side of things back in around 2015 or 2016 if i remember right. My mate was a mechanic for them and said they had no money what so ever. They still dont, hence why you dont really see any update or new bikes from them.

Would love to see you take the carb out and rebuild it. I have thr exact bike and theres a lack of vids on youtube

People keep getting Adventure bikes and Dual Sport bikes mixed up. To each his own, of course, but a KLR is a cheep Adventure bike. It's not meant for single track. Look, I've ridden street bikes on single track, but is it practical? no, of course not. Putting a 21in front wheel on a tank doesn't make it a Dual Sport bike either. But, what do I know, Kawasaki has sold a pot load of them.

6 speeds would be nice...keep the weight as us. And a small yet effective screen. Contract with seats concept..that's all.

My Klr is a beast. Takes every off road beating. Not selling mine that’s for sure.

My friend just picked up a 2024 DR650 ,here in the States. He let me ride it, I can see the appeal.

It's time they stopped selling us 30 year old crap technology and just scrap the 400 and the 650 and come up with something from this century

I like the DR650 and DRZ400 as they are, but that's probably because I'm in the US. There aren't really any direct competitors in size and price range other than Honda, blah.

Recently purchased a 2012 Suzuki DR650 with less than 6k miles (10k km) that had a few mods (pumper carb, pipe, muffler, bars, risers, bash plate) A new DR costs twice as much as the ask on the one I purchased… traded a 2011 Kawasaki Versys 650 for the DR… much happier with the DR for the riding I intend to do

I like the dv tubeless on the front. It’s very versatile. I’m running a tractionator gps on the rear. A good combo.
